On January 20th 2009, The united states and the entire world had just experienced history in the doing. It was the time where the entire world was in awe as the impossible had just took place. Who recognized that Barack Hussein Obama would be the first (if not ever) african american president to run The united states, the superpower of the world. For most people, there was a time to rejoice as they had just witnessed history. For others however, fear and despair had struck the minds.
It has already been over a year now since that momentous day but the true question lies, has Barack Obama fulfilled his duty as president and promised America that transform? It has already been a roller coaster trip for Barack Obama as the nation is divided 50/50 about whether or not Obama has what it takes to become chief executive for a second term. I for one believe that Barack Obama is a gracious and noble man and I also think that he will help US residents through tough times. I’m sure that there are a lot of men and women out there who might totally don’t agree with my declaration and I fully acknowledge that but, I also think that his motives are morally just.
After a lengthy battle between supporters of the fight against obesity and major beverage distributors, a deal has finally been reached. In a joint effort with distributors and William J. Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association, the dealers have agreed to eliminate sales of regular soda in our nations schools.
This agreement will be implemented by the 2008-2009 school year. It is requested that only water, juice and milk sold in elementary and secondary schools, and diet soda, unsweetened tea, fitness water, sports drinks, flavored water, and effervescent in secondary schools. This prohibition applies regular soft drinks during the regular school day or extended, and includes in its extracurricular activities.
This agreement is estimated to effect 75 percent of our nations schools or 35 million students. Note that this ban on soft drinks account for about 45 percent of beverage sales in schools during school 2005 years.
While this is certainly a step in the right direction for our public schools and our children are overweight, I remain concerned by the fact that diet sodas are considered safe.
Consider this fact, the dangers of aspartame has been a secret well hidden from the decade 1980. Can not hear billions because the food industry is worth a lot about aspartame poisoning dollars.
People are beginning to discover for themselves that aspartame is the root of their health problems. This is just a short list of side effects associated with aspartame consumption, and can not be limited to those few.
